About Us
Welcome to Chez Nous Provisions - A Virtual Shop! Finally, a way for locals in the Berkshires to enjoy handmade charcuterie and other treats from Chez Nous' Franck Tessier & Rachel Portnoy. Franck and Rachel have been cooking together since they met in 1997 in Saranac Lake, NY at The Point Resort. They went on to work in London at the 2-Michelin starred restaurant Le Gavroche, as corporate chefs for Citigroup, and then landed in the Berkshires in 2002. For three years Franck worked as the chef at a beloved Lee, MA restaurant, From Ketchup to Caviar, while Rachel honed her entrepreneurial skills opening Cakewalk Bakery & Cafe. In 2005 they joined forces again to open their own bistro, Chez Nous, where they brought together their years of fine dining experience to create a fun, casual, and popular restaurant. Since selling the restaurant in December of 2021, they have created their own label Chez Nous Provisions, to continue to share their delight in producing hand-made goods with the utmost attention to detail in sourcing ingredients & techniques.
